Billing & Fees
Billing Policy
Whilst we are predominantly a private billing practice, bulk billing is available for children under the age of 16 years during weekday appointments. Please note that kids between the age of 12-16 years will be billed a gap for long/complex appointments, at the doctor’s discretion. We also offer pension and concession rate billing to all concession card holders. All eligible DVA card holders are also directly billed to DVA.
Please note: Each appointment is 10-15 minutes long and for one patient only. If you are booking for more than one patient, please choose one appointment time per patient.

Fees
From the 1st of July 2024, our fees will be increasing to reflect increased practice costs. We will also be charging a higher rate on Saturdays. Eligible patients will continue to receive a Medicare rebate for their appointments. The fee breakdown is as follows:

Non-Attendance Fee
Whilst we appreciate that sometimes is not possible to attend or cancel your appointment due to various reasons, it is important that you let us know at least 3 hours in advance that you will not be attending as we have a high demand for people awaiting appointments.
If we do not receive adequate notice of cancellation, or if you miss your appointment, we may charge a non-attendance fee. This fee is not eligible for a Medicare rebate and must be paid before any further appointments can be made.
Telehealth
Telehealth (voice-call) appointments are offered to existing patients by most of our doctors. In some cases, a doctor may request a video consult so that they can complete a more thorough assessment. If this is the case, our friendly receptionists will call to inform you of the process prior to your appointment.
Please note that telehealth appointments follow the same billing schedule as above. However, patients must have attended a face-to-face appointment with one of our doctors within the last 12 months to be eligible for a Medicare rebate.
Additionally, telehealth appointments are “standard” length (see above); please advise reception if you require a longer consult.
Patients that are registered with Cockburn Medical Centre under MyMedicare are eligible for longer telehealth consults. Please see our FAQ page for further detail on how to register.
